IN THE MAKING

book gift wrapIsn’t this befitting? can’t think of many lovelier ways to give a book, except maybe this

I so love these. They’re making me want to start my first art collection of sorts. Book City Jackets just came out with their next edition of book covers featuring artists’ work. So affordable as far as art prints go, right? All the books on my shelves are just begging for one of these.

Also, I have to tell you, I came across a couple books recently and fell in love at first sight. Does this happen to you? I love when this happens, often with nonfiction. With fiction it’s usually more of a developed courtship that blossoms into burning romance. Anyway, I’ll be hosting a giveaway for each next week and am so so excited. We’ll also talk a bit more about books because that’s pretty much the only thing on the holiday countdown, since it is Halloween week (wahoo!) after all.

As for this week. We’ve been experimenting around here with a treat that involves melted chocolate and sticks. It’s been a little slow going. It turns out things happen a little slower with three kiddos in the house. Who knew? But barring any natural catastrophes or cases of catching a cold, I should have it to you in time for your weekend.

Books. Chocolate. You’ve got my undivided attention!

I must say that I LOVE how you schedule reading (mental stimulation and escape) into your holiday task list. I have to start doing that…. My book stack is getting dusty and I can’t have that!
