MUCK BOOTS

Two and a half years ago I convinced my husband that we should (1) buy a house in the country, and (2) buy a house in the country that needed a complete overhaul. Part of the bargain was that he should have a manly truck for doing such manly things as country life and fixing up houses require. I’m sorry to report that he still does not have his work truck, but I’m happy to say that he does have its equivalent in boots.

Meet the Muck Boot. These were recommended to us by our friends who moved into a house with an orchard, and who know a good work boot when they wear one. Great for any farmer, gardener, equestrian, or hunter you may know. We love ours, tough and waterproof yet oh-so-comfortable and easy to slip on and off. Within a week of wearing them my husband was trying to convince me he needed a second pair.

And for the ladies who might want something of lighter weight, but equally easy to slip off and on, here is the Jeffrey Campell Vee Rain Bootie. Perhaps just a bit prettier than the Muck, just a bit.
